summer program - 1st training session

With the start-up of HSA little BOOTERS' summer program just days away we wanted to post some info so everyone is as excited and informed as we are.

Where: Abbott Loop Community Park. The map above is clickable and integrated with google maps.

What to bring: You and your child(ren), a size 3 soccer ball, shingaurds, shoes to run in, water, REGISTRATION form and PAYMENT (if you haven't already), anything else your child may personally need, ie. sunscreen, insect repellent, etc. Training t-shirts will be passed out at the first session.

What to expect: Each training session will contain the following components - physical play, individual ball skills, team building skills, team play. Parent involvement is also expected and necessary for a successful training session. As the U4 category contains a wide age and ability range we need your help to engage your child. Don't be discouraged if your child is not interested in everything going on, that will develop with familiarity and repetition. Taking a break to 'refocus' is normal and encouraged for the well being of all children involved. Embrace the fun elements and try not to force those things that the child is resistant to, but keep them attentive and in the training area if possible as the proximity to activity will familiarize the child for future sessions. Training activities will be quick paced and fun to keep the interest of the children. Most children will not turn professional after one academy program, it will most likely take at least two...

little BOOTERS interest list

Hello friends and family!

Tiffany and I thought that instead of paying someone else to coach our son and trying to get all his friends/family coordinated to be on the same team that we could easily just do our own thing, and so Hinshaw Soccer Academy was born.

I'm excited about the possibility of pulling this off. I think it'd be a great time to not only get the kids together in a constructive way, but to also see and hang out with each other. This is such a great time in our lives as we raise young children and I am so glad to be able to share it with all of you. This is just another way to build community for our young families.

Please check out the flyer below or under the more info sidebar and if interested please comment below with what day/time would best work and indicate how many children. I'd like to get started by early June and run through the end of July. We will work primarily on beginning ball skills, playing together, and active fitness. Many of the drills will involve you and your child working together so come ready to play yourself. Please also let me know if you can help bring snacks, volunteer coach, or some other capacity I haven't thought of yet.

Because of licensing and insurance concerns (there is none yet) this Academy is open by invite only. Please contact me if you'd like more info.
